released June 4, 2012

"Continuing on his musical wanderings as seen on "Alchemystery", Mathias once again travels down the obscured path of the shaman. Solemn soundscaping with heavy elements of percussion and flute selected from material recorded in winter and spring of 2012. The search for the legendary springs of Mímir and Urðr has begun.

Alchemy Suite Part IV: The Well of Urðr

2.1 - That Which Has Already Been (28:23)
2.2 - On Fragile Wings Once More Arisen (21:04)
2.3 - Twisted by the Hand of Fate (29:37)

According to the old norse mythos, the water from the spring of Mímir would bestow upon the person drinking from it, a deep wisdom and understanding. This immense promise of knowledge saw Odin, warlord of the Æsir, sacrificing one of his eyes to remain at the well in order to gaze into its revelations. Travel to the spring is hazardous, located underneath the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil, one has to venture into Niefelheim, home of the Hrímþursars, the frost giants. The Well of Urðr, on the other hand, can be found in the realm of the Æsir themselves, guarded by the three Norns Urðr, Verðandi and Skuld. They poured its waters on the roots of the Yggdrasil, while spinning the threads that would determine each and every person's fate." - GTERMA press release
