"Prepare for a bit of sound archaeology as we revisit two related drone pieces recorded back in April 1999. Together they illustrate a difficult voyage to the mystical northern continent of Uttarakuru, believed populated by a highly refined people with deep spiritual capabilities. They live secluded from our realm, beyond a massive and treacherous ocean, their homeland hidden among gloom mountains and unknown valleys. Governed by the ancient warrior king Kubera, legend has it that the capital Alakapuri is a city floating in the sky.
1. The Empty Sky (74:15)
2. Distant Light (74:41)
These two soundworlds were originally released in 1999 as parts of a loose longform dronescape trilogy, begun with "Hidden Deep", which was followed by "The Empty Sky" and "Distant Light" closing the suite. Originally available as no-name CDr:s they now appear on glassmastered discs for the first time." - GTERMA press release.
